Battle for the Skies page 43. Jamie Jameson RAF; On 28 May 1940, I was told that German transport aeroplanes were unloading troops in a fjord south of Narvik. Eventually we spied two enormous six engine flying boats hidden in a small cove and protected by high cliffs on three sides of the cove. To attack the boats we had to dive steeply down the side of one cliff, firing as we went, and then had to make a steep turn along the fjord to avoid the cliff on the other side. When we left, the flying boats were blazing and sinking.
