Dr David Hummel
Does anyone have information about Dr David Hummel?
He was a General Practitioner who lived in Gäddede, close to the Norwegian border. He had patients both in Norway and Sweden. Dr Hummel was involved in the Norwegian Resistance. Possibly Henry Rinnan had plans of assassinating him.

In the book:" Henry Rinnan-fattigungen som tog hämnd och blev tysk mästeragent i ockuperat Norge" you can find lots of information about Dr.Hummel.

Yes I have just read these chapters.
But I am certain there are a lot to tell from the Norwegian side about this very interesting man. In books about local history, magazines, newspapers and so on...
I read somewhere that he helped the actress Sonja Wigert, codenamed Bill in the Swedish Secret Service, in some way. Escaping perhaps.

Have you checked Ragnar Ulsteins three books "Svensketrafikken".
Might be something there?

Re: Dr David Hummel
Yes in the second of the three books there is a passage about Hummel, but I haven't read it yet. There may also be something in Ulsteins three books about the Norwegian Etterretningstjenesten.
But very good sources usually are local historians, not always easy to find.
Men varför pratar vi engelska med varann? Kanske av artighet mot de som inte kan norska/svenska.
