Somewere on the net I read that Per Waaler passed away. Is that correct?nyone more details?

Yes, Per Waaler passed away at Diakonhjemmet hospital in Osli in the early hours of June 4th.

He will be buried from Holmenkollen Kapell today (friday 13th June) at 11.00.

Thanks for the message, sad news. Was he the last survivor of the Norwegian airforce who were active during the German invasion?

Hi Mathieu,
whether he was the definitely last member of the Air Forces (the Army and Navy both had their own air units and there was no Air Force as such) from the invasion in 1940, I don't know, but I believe he was at least definitely the last surviving pilot from the Fighter Wing at Forbnebu.

There may, of course, be ground crew or similar that are still alive, but it is probably safe to say that he was among the last surviving members at least.

Perhaps someone else on here knows for sure?
