Typical biased Norway campaign article

"Thirdly, and most importantly, the Norwegian campaign was a disaster of sorts for the Kriegsmarine as it lost 16 months in its prosecution of tonnage warfare"
Absurd, it increased the tonnage warfare. Gave Germans MORE access to Atlantic for surface ships. Most of the disguised raiders went out in 1940, & used Norway as a staging place.
Operation Nordseetour was the first Atlantic sortie of the German heavy cruiser Admiral Hipper during December, 1940.
The first attack, on troop convoy WS-5A, took place in December 1940. Although one of the escorting British cruisers, HMS Berwick, was heavily damaged, the impact on the convoy was limited to damage to two merchantman. Engine problems and low fuel stores obliged Admiral Hipper to return to Brest. En route, she encountered and sank the freighter Jumna.

Re: Typical biased Norway campaign article
"The German presence in Norwegian waters to disrupt shipping to Russia was again, fairly un-important"
Again dumb.
material loans by the British and US had little real significance on the Eastern front,
REALLY dumb.

Re: Typical biased Norway campaign article
Furthermore, with the conquest of Denmark occurring alongside that of Norway, the British were free to take over Iceland and Greenland
Hmm, "FREE" to take over Iceland? When is one Free to take over an innocent country? Bizarre thinking. The Icelanders WERE NOT happy about being occupied. They performed sabotage on British airplanes at Kaldadarnes.

Re: Typical biased Norway campaign article
Naturally the attack on Petsamo is either ignored or unknown to the author, the access to this proximity with Norway in tow is obvious. The Value of Petsamo is also likewise obvious.
& with the RAF pounding German ships in France, I wonder where the professed Norway experts think the German ships should go?
