Manus

I have just read the paragraphs in Manuses' book: "Mitt liv" - My life - regarding his time in Finnland. He tells about guardduty, misorientation. And eventually a great Russian artillery bombardement the day of cease fire. There is not a word about close combat, skirmishes not what so ever.

I have asked a friend to check out in the SFK roll which unit Max Manus served in. What I know for sure is that he arrived at Kongsvinger together with 2/Lt (in Norway promoted Cpt) Gösta Benckert, who had been CO of 3rd Platoon 1st Rilfle Coy (Cpt Bouveng) of II.Group SFK. Max Manus was promoted 2/Lt and CO 1st Platoon of Company Benckert at Kongsvinger. In this Coy was also Leif "Shetland" Larsen.
