Two Stuka crashes Narvik 2.6-40
On this day, pilot Ltn.Klaus Kübel of Stuka (A5+DK) and Obltn.Heinz Böhne of Stuka WNr.5428 (A5+DM) were shot down and killed.
The gunners of the two planes were killed too. I have been searching for their names for a while now.
Both Kübel and Böhne are buried at Narvik Cemetery. When I studied the grave list I found two other names killed on the same date: Uffz.Rudolf Tribulowski and Uffz. Horst Schamp.
Can anyone confirm if they belonged to the Stukas mentioned above?
TIA Kjell

Hello!
It could very well be that these two "unteroffiziere" were killed with the Stukas.
According to the list I found at http://www.rafandluftwaffe.info/ , there were 3 Stukas who were lost that day, all had started from the airfield at Hattfjelldal:
One Junkers Ju 87 R from Stukastaffel 2./I./StG 1 Hattfjelldal, shot down by British A/C 46 SQN HURRICANE
100% damaged, Ltn. Klaus Kübel (+) (2 men lost) Crashed at Fagernes, SE Narvik
One Junkers Ju 87 R from Stukastaffel ?./I./StG 1, Hattfjelldal+ 4N, shot down by British A/C 46 SQN HURRICANE (? )
Pilot unknown, one man lost, crash landing on airfield Hattfjelldal.
One Junkers Ju 87 R from Stukastaffel 2./I./StG 1, Hattfjelldal+ 4N, shot down by British A/C 263 SQN GLADIATOR, 100% destroyed, Oblt. Heinz Böhne (+) (2 men killed) crashed at area Narvik.
In "Krigen i Norge" (operasjonene i Nord-Norge) it says that the Germans attacked Narvik with 23 aircraft, with the result that the Oscarsborg section of the city was destroyed. Appearently british aircrafts downed 7 German planes. Later that day, there were 2 more minor air attacks.

Another good indication is their rank. Unteroffizier is not a rank used by the Kriegsmarine and is not a rank used by gebirgsjäger, they used the term oberjäger as did the fallschirmjäger too, there were very few troops on the ground that would have used unteroffizier. The rank is also what you'd expect for a gunner.

Mr.Peter Cornwell solved the case:
"You are quite right, SCHAMP flew with the Staffelkapitän, BOHNE, and TRIBULOWSKI with KÜLBEL."

I did. It said 23 aircraft, didn't specify if all were Stukas, some could've been HE 111s.
Is this the airfield?
